Grace wasn’t free for Jesus, but it’s free for you and me. Look at these two verses:
[Part I] For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; [Part II] Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. (Romans 3:23, 24)
The first verse says, the law of Moses didn’t justify anyone, ever! The second verse says, we are justified freely by Grace.
Justify means: To free a human of the guilt and penalty attached to grievous sin. Redemption means: Deliverance upon payment of ransom. Jesus set us free by paying the ransom.
How much did our justification cost us? Nothing – we couldn’t afford it. How much did our ransom cost Jesus? Everything! He bore the sum of humanity’s punishment, then He atoned for us with His blood. Redemption can’t be found in Mohammed. Redemption can’t be found in Buddha. Redemption can’t be found in the best of men. Redemption can only be found IN CHRIST, and you are redeemed because you are IN HIM.
