We know that no one was made righteous by observing the Law of Moses. Everyone failed. Here’s the good news of the Good News – Jesus did for us what we could have never done for ourselves. He satisfied all the claims against us and redeemed us unto Himself. Now we have taken up permanent residence IN HIM. Here are the benefits of being IN CHRIST: His wisdom is our wisdom, his right-standing with God is our right-standing with God, His purity is our purity, His deliverance/release/freedom is our deliverance/release/freedom.
“But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption.” (1 Corinthians 1:30)
How could religious man’s personal sacrifice add value to Christ’s supreme sacrifice? It’s an insult to behave as if Jesus failed in His mission. We must have confidence in the substitutionary sacrifice of Christ: He had everything. But, He forfeited everything in His crucifixion, death, burial. Then we inherited everything that He had forfeited when we were raised with Him from the dead.
(Don’t quite get it? Just begin confessing over and over: Jesus is my wisdom, Jesus is my righteousness, Jesus is my Sanctification, Jesus is my redemption. You’ll get it!)
